Industrial accident simulation by CFD models

Models for release and dispersion of high pressure dangerous gas (flammable and/or toxic), in congested installations (e.g. offshore platforms). The CFD SBAM model has been developed in order to ensure a strong reduction of simulation time allowing the use of this accident simulation as a driver of the design choices. The existing tools today available in the market, in fact, are time consuming and their application is used as final verification of the conservative (and expensive) assumptions made by the design team, based on a limited number of scenarios.
